Gadukdo is an island off from Busan Metropolitan City and the island is popular to locals as a weekend getaway destination for leisure such as fishing, hiking and sea food dining. Busan City’s vision is to develop the island as an international tourism hub with newly proposed international airport. The proposed winning master plan from international design and idea competition envisions the island to become flagship eco-tourism destination with low impact commercial development and multi-modal hub in North East Asia connecting sky, land and ocean with consolidated transportation systems.
